Who is VANGEAR?

Vancouver Gear Works Ltd. is the leading provider of specialty gear manufacturing services in Western Canada. We use sophisticated machines to manufacture, hardened precision ground gears that meet with both A.G.M.A. (American Gear Manufacture Association) and D.I.N. (German Industry Standards) criteria.

Originally founded to provide after market replacement parts for the flourishing coastal marine industry, VANGEAR has since branched out to other industries (Oil & Gas, Forestry & Mining) and has continued to develop into a specialty jobbing facility.

VANGEAR has grown into an impressive 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility, housing a large complement of gear-cutting equipment. Machining and fabricating capabilities are also on site, including a full in-house design / engineering and inspection department. With such a wide variety of machining and gear-cutting services, VANGEAR's full spectrum of operation is at the forefront of gear and sprocket manufacturing.

We have pioneered a niche market as a manufacturer with specialized equipment.  Our strong  technical staff is motivated by, and focused on, long-term goals.

Quality Control

Vancouver Gear Works Ltd. is focused on quality due to the simple fact that our future is based on our past and we can only measure our success on the goals we have achieved. VANGEAR strives to continually improve and is constantly working on new concepts to help you in achieving your goals.

Quality control assures on-the-job performance. Our gears are tested on equipment for mounting distance, backlash, pitch, profile, lead, tooth-to-tooth spacing and composite tolerances. Gear inspection is a process control that monitors the various analytical elements of the gear teeth during the manufacturing cycle to determine if the gear meets the customer's required criteria.

VANGEAR performs an inspection after each procedure. Parts must be inspected before they can proceed to the next station. VANGEAR also has an in-house Quality Control Inspector, who has the authority to reject any part, at any time throughout the production stages. Our Quality Control Inspector also inspects all parts before they can be shipped. If requested, our Quality Control Department can provide a certificate of inspection to accompany any order.

Every part manufactured by  VANGEAR is stamped with our part number. When requested we also stamp customer specified numbers. The purpose of this is to allow proper identification of parts for future inquiries and part traceability.
